Health Disclaimer

Version 2026-08-23 · Effective 23 August 2026

Kaffa is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a treatment. It is not a medical device. Nothing in it is a substitute for a doctor, a dietitian, or a qualified professional who knows your situation.

What the numbers are

Calorie and macronutrient figures are estimates drawn from published composition tables, product labels and recipe calculations. Energy targets are estimates from formulas that describe populations, not you. Two plates of the same dish from two kitchens can differ by a third or more, and no database can tell them apart.

Talk to someone first if

You are pregnant or breastfeeding; you have diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease, or a thyroid condition; you have or have had an eating disorder; you are taking medication whose dose depends on what or when you eat; or you are under 18. In any of those cases, speak to a healthcare professional before changing how you eat or train, and follow their advice over anything this app suggests.

If something feels wrong

Stop, and see a doctor. Dizziness, fainting, unusual fatigue, chest pain, or rapid unintended weight change are reasons to get help, not reasons to adjust a target.

On tracking itself

Logging food is useful for some people and harmful for others. If counting makes you anxious, or you find yourself restricting beyond what you planned, it is reasonable to stop. Kaffa has floors on its recommendations for that reason, and it will not suggest a target below them.

In Germany, the Bundeszentrale für gesundheitliche Aufklärung runs a free and confidential eating-disorder helpline on 0221 892031.

Emergencies

This app cannot help in an emergency. In Germany and across the EU, call 112.
