Terms of Service
Version 2026-09-12 · Effective 12 September 2026
1. Who you are agreeing with
Kaffa is operated by Mohammad Areesheh, Munich, Germany. Contact: hello@kaffa.fit. Full details are in the Impressum.
2. What Kaffa is
A tool for logging food, training, weight and related measurements, and for seeing what those add up to. It is a record-keeping and estimation tool.
It is not medical advice and not a medical device. Please read the health disclaimer — it is short, and it is the part that matters most.
3. Who may use it
You must be at least 16. If you are under 18, please involve a parent or guardian before changing how you eat or train.
4. Your account
Before you start logging, you review the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and health disclaimer and choose whether to allow health-data processing. After you agree, an anonymous account is created when a connection is available so you can start without typing an email address. You may later attach an email address to keep your data if you change phones. Keep your credentials to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
5. Your data is yours
What you log belongs to you. You can request a copy of your data or its deletion by contacting hello@kaffa.fit from Privacy settings. Deleting your account deletes your data — see the privacy policy for exactly what that means.
Foods you submit to the shared database are different: if you choose to contribute one, you allow us to use and correct it for other users. Do not submit anything you do not have the right to share.
6. Accuracy
Nutrition figures are estimates. They come from published composition tables, product labels, and calculations from recipes, and they are wrong to some degree for any particular plate of food — portion size alone varies more between two households than most databases admit. Where an estimate is uncertain, the app says so. Do not treat any number here as measured fact about the food in front of you.
7. Paid features
Some features may require a subscription. If they do, the price, the billing period and what is included will be shown before you pay, and the purchase is handled by Apple's App Store or Google Play under their terms — including their refund processes. Your statutory right of withdrawal under German and EU consumer law is unaffected. There are no paid features today.
8. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, access other people's data, or submit unlawful content. We may suspend an account that does.
9. Availability
The app is offline-first: logging keeps working without a connection, and syncs when one returns. We do not promise uninterrupted availability of the server side, and we may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your data.
10. Liability
We are liable without limitation for injury to life, body or health, for intent and gross negligence, and under the German Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of an obligation essential to the purpose of this agreement, and only up to the damage typically foreseeable for a service of this kind. Otherwise our liability is excluded.
11. Changes to these terms
Every version is dated, and the app records which one you accepted. If we make a material change we will ask you to accept the new version. If you do not, you may stop using the service and delete your data.
12. Law and jurisdiction
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory law in your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings there.
